Do not confuse the compact design of the CMT-80 with its ability to provide powerful results. Not only does this tester have the capability of measuring up to 400 amps AC and 600 V AC/DC, it also has low impedance input which takes the guesswork out of determining whether voltage is due to ghost voltage or a hard connection. With all that sophistication you may expect a complicated tester with multiple selector switches. Not the case, the CMT-80 is fully automatic and hassle free. The only time you have to press a button is if you want to hold the reading or turn off the meter manually. The tester actually knows whether you are measuring current, voltage or resistance. Literally, you can clamp the meter onto a live conductor, take an amperage reading, leave the tester clamped onto the live conductor and use the probes to take a voltage measurement. Within seconds, the display will change from Amps to Volts. Amazing.
